1. Dig a hole in which you will plant the tree. The hole should be about twice as deep and large as the pot or the tree’s root clod. Make sure that the root clod fits well into the hole, loosen the sides of the hole and potentially add any potting soil if needed. We do not recommend using compost.
Tip: Pour a bucket of water into the hole first so that the soil has time to absorb the water. |

3. Put the fruit tree in the hole. It is good for the trees if they are planted equally deep as they have been in the pot. Fill the hole with potting soil and press it gently so that the fruit tree stands straight and solid in its new base. |

2. Carefully remove the pot from the fruit tree. You will see that the tree has a well-rooted clod which is shaped to the pot. For the best start of your new acquisition, carefully loosen the root clod so that the roots have easy access to new nutrients in the soil. |  |
